Helena Kaikkonen
Delicate and silent art of Helena Kaikkonen is inspired by the seasons of the Nordic nature. Exponent of the new textile art, Helena Kaikkonen works by combining natural materials and techniques. Helena Kaikkonen’s works for “Il respiro della foresta” are made during the autumn time 2013, when Finnish winter is coming and there will be less and less light day by day, until it is almost only darkness.
The artist captures memories of golden sun shining very low on the horizon, illuminating the landscape. Her works are materials direct picked from forest. Her message is simple and profound: we must respect nature because we belong to it, feeling at home into the forest for her means have a deep connection with the nature.
Forest is holy for finnish people. It is a place for quite down, for peace where physical and mental energy can be recharged. Only those who can take refuge in the arms of the trees can hear the breath of forest. The works of Kaikkonen express the feeling of nature as an Eco become dynamic, where a thin thread weaves the multiple language and bright life.
