Marion Schmidtke: Pattern of Nature
Pattern of Nature
MyMicroGallery is pleased to announce “Pattern of Nature”, first solo Milan exhibition by the German artist Marion Schmidtke. The exhibit opens on Thursday 10 January 2019 and continues until 24 January 2019.
It features ten paintings, all acrylics on canvas whose main characters are fauna and flora marina. Her work is the result of a long research on the dimension of silence favored by the fact that Marion Schmidtke lives on Ferhard Island, an island surrounded by the Baltic Sea where the spectacle of nature is for the artist a source of endless creative inspiration.
Her paintings express essentiality, they are made with with controlled gestures, inserted in a context of hints of truth: an intimate vision of the natural world emerges, where space is traversed by impalpable fluctuations, structural harmonies that are organized into stylistic systems. The image is not an inert object, but a living body that is contemplated in a disinterested way different levels of reality, natura naturans and metaphysical aspects, both necessary to inhabit an imaginative universe made up of fragments that yearn for totality.
Her pictorial process consists in removing weight from the elements, overlapping, condensing, alternating empty and full: clues to a real always caught at the limit of abstraction.
